The Role
Our Digital Operations Team are seeking a highly motivated individual to join them at NHS Lanarkshire Headquarters, Kirklands.
The Digital Operations Function delivers high quality digital infrastructure, applications and non-clinical support functions that meet the immediate and future needs of the staff and patient population in Lanarkshire.
Through the Digital Services Manager (Technical Services), this role will work to assist the Operations Manager (Systems), providing technical insight, and knowledge, in the systems infrastructure remit of the team. Contributing to the development and advisory of current/new technologies and systems.
Additional Information Specific to the Role
* Provide technical advisor support for Systems platforms and services in support of Digital Services within NHSL.
* Assist in ensuring our systems infrastructure evolves to meet national directives and ensure NHSL maintains high performance and reliability.
* The role will assist in advising on contracted support for systems infrastructure, including critical incident recovery services.
* Configuring and installation of digital systems or equipment
* Contribute to project activities within and outwith Digital where there is a system solution requirement
* Participate in Out of Hours work and on call duties

What we'll need you to bring
Educated to or operating at degree level in a relevant IT discipline and have experience in a desktop related support role within an Information Technology Department
Technical training and certification in relevant technical skills and products
Experience in a health service environment
Be willing to participate in the eHealth on-call support service which provides first line support for 24/7 IT systems in NHSL should it be required
The post requires an individual who can demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge in the following areas;
* MS Windows Operating Systems.
* MS TCP/IP networking protocols and management
* MS Office
* Remote desktop support software
* Desktop Management suites
* Security backup applications
* PC hardware diagnostic tools
* Basic network fault diagnostic tools
The post requires an individual who can demonstrate the following skills:
* Planning and organisation
* Ability to manage workload, prioritise and assist in the completion of routine and project workloads
* Strong organisational skills
* Communication
* Proven skills of empathy with staff
* Strong documentation skills
* Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
* Ability to communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly language to non-technical staff
* Excellent customer service orientation
* Teamwork
* Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team with both technical and user colleagues
It would be great if you also have
* Additional system or Microsoft related technical training and certification
* Technical knowledge of any Microsoft cloud platform
* Technical knowledge of systems management tools
* Car driver with access to car and a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence
