THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Infrastructure Investment Director would be an integral leadership position in Cambridge Associates’ Pension Practice and will work closely with the infrastructure research group as well. This is a director position and comes with an attractive financial package including performance based short and long term incentives.
Senior Investment Directors focus on four primary responsibilities: advising clients on their public and private infrastructure investments; executing infrastructure co-investment and direct transactions on behalf of clients, researching infrastructure market trends, products and investment managers; and serving as a resource to the firm’s other Investment Directors. Each Senior Investment Director leads multiple client relationships and is responsible for monitoring multiple investment products and opportunities, which requires them to handle several projects at once.
RESPONSIBILITIES
·Lead multiple client relationships, which entails developing, implementing, and reviewing infrastructure investment programs customized for the client’s investment objectives. In this capacity, Senior Investment Directors are responsible for developing appropriate financial and investment goals, investment policies, risk management frameworks, risk budgets, investment manager structures and investment selection. They will interact directly with the investment committees, finance executives, real assets directors, and chief investment officers of clients.
·Lead our efforts to source, underwrite, and recommend co-investment and direct infrastructure investment opportunities suitable for our clients’ investment objectives. This often entails managing multiple transaction processes with near-term deadlines simultaneously.
·Conduct investment research on infrastructure investment opportunities. This entails leveraging existing industry relationships, building new relationships, and conducting thorough due diligence on infrastructure investment managers around the world. Furthermore, Senior Investment Directors are responsible for staying abreast of market trends and authoring research on topics relevant to infrastructure markets and our clients’ interests. Senior Investment Directors are responsible for leading research projects and delegating and coordinating analyses and other work with the Investment Associates.
·Function as an internal resource. Senior Investment Directors serve as a resource to the broader staff on infrastructure markets and investments.
·Generate new business development opportunities and participate in business development activities, including attending and speaking at industry events and presenting at marketing meetings with potential clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
·Substantial infrastructure related investment experience, preferably transactional experience.
·Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
·Demonstrated relationship-building skills.
·Proven project management and team leadership skills.
·Ability to work independently and in teams under time constraints.
·CFA or MBA preferred.
