About the Role

As a Consulting Engineer at Sword, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact technical solutions across diverse environments. This is a hands‑on position that blends deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, offering the opportunity to lead complex deployments, shape low‑level designs, and provide expert consultancy to clients. You'll be the go‑to authority for troubleshooting and escalation, working on cutting‑edge network and security technologies. Beyond the technical scope, this role offers the chance to mentor others, influence project outcomes, and be part of a collaborative team that values innovation and ownership. Key Responsibilities

* Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, from design through to implementation, while maintaining clear and effective communication throughout.
* Take full ownership of technical issues, ensuring thorough diagnosis and resolution.
* Deliver project engineering services, including low‑level design, implementation, and consultancy.
* Provide expert‑level support to clients and serve as an internal escalation point for complex support incidents.
* Troubleshoot and resolve network and security‑related issues with precision and efficiency.
* Mentor and support the development of other team members.


Requirements

* Knowledge and experience of deploying at least 5 of the following in a production environment:
o Cisco Routers (and associated protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)
o Cisco Switches (and associated technologies such as VTP, STP, VSS)
o Cisco Datacentre Switching (Nexus and associated technologies such as VPC, VDC)
o Cisco Wireless, Cisco Firewalls (ASA, or Firepower)
o Azure and AWS cloud environments
* You will also be required to pass the Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Security Clearance.
