Overview
Wellington College Prep is a joyful, energetic and nurturing community where children develop curiosity, confidence and character. Our staff play a central role in shaping this environment, and we are now seeking a Sports Assistant on a fixed term basis who will contribute to the life of the school with enthusiasm, warmth and a genuine commitment to young people. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, the Prep School is a vibrant setting in which every day brings new opportunities to inspire and support our pupils.
Responsibilities
* Support children across sport, the classroom and the wider curriculum, working closely with the PE and Games Department to foster a positive sporting culture, assist with lessons, contribute to the coaching of teams, and support the organisation of fixtures and activities.
* Engage with younger pupils in the classroom, offering guidance, encouragement and practical support that helps them to thrive both academically and personally.
* Join the boarding duty rota to contribute to a welcoming and safe environment for boarders, and support colleagues during evenings and occasional weekends, including supervising routines and accompanying trips as needed.
* Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to life at a busy boarding and day school and participate in professional development through training, mentoring and broader school involvement.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Interest in school sport, classroom support, and broader curriculum involvement.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; willingness to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
* Existing and continuing right to live and work in the UK.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a values-driven environment.
