About the Role

As a Relational Support Practitioner, you’ll work closely with the Relational Support Lead and Senior Leadership Team to embed attachment-aware and trauma-informed practice throughout the school. You’ll support staff and students during challenging moments, help facilitate restorative approaches and ensure every interaction reflects empathy, respect and belief in each young person’s potential.

Your work will play a key role in strengthening a therapeutic school culture built on relationships, reflection and restoration.

Key Responsibilities

* Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs to access learning and engage positively in school life
* Deliver targeted interventions and support strategies linked to EHCP outcomes
* Promote emotional regulation, independence and confidence in students
* Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and therapeutic teams to provide consistent support
* Monitor behaviour and progress using systems such as CPOMS, contributing to safeguarding and school improvement

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who is:

* Calm, empathetic and emotionally intelligent
* Confident managing challenging situations with professionalism and care
* Passionate about trauma-informed and relational practice
* A strong team player who builds positive relationships easily
* Reflective, adaptable and solution-focused
* Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and equality of opportunity
* Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable)

Skills & Experience

* Experience working with young people with SEMH needs in education, care or support settings
* Understanding of attachment, trauma-informed and restorative approaches
* Knowledge of SEND and child development principles
* Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
* Ability to observe, record and analyse behaviour effectively
* Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
