At Dalkia Scotland, we’re delivering smart, sustainable technical solutions that make a real difference. We’re now looking for an M&E Clerk of Works to join our QSHE team and provide independent site-based quality assurance across our projects.
What you’ll be doing
* Act as an independent inspector of mechanical and electrical works across live projects
* Ensure installations are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, standards, and client requirements
* Carry out regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials, and compliance
* Identify defects and non-conformances, reporting findings clearly to project teams and clients
* Support multiple projects across the full lifecycle, from construction through to handover and aftercare
* Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and site reports
* Work closely with project, commercial, and operational teams to drive quality standards on site
* Monitor and report on quality issues, trends, and risks
* Witness testing and commissioning activities where required
* Support the resolution of defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented
* Promote a culture of right-first-time delivery and high-quality workmanship
* Act as a visible advocate for QSHE standards and behaviours across Dalkia Scotland
What we’re looking for
* Strong background in Mechanical or Electrical building services (e.g. Electrician, Plumber, Supervisor, Site Manager)
* Proven experience working on construction or M&E projects
* Excellent knowledge of site installations, drawings, and industry standards
* CSCS card (essential)
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive, quality-focused approach
* Confident working independently on site and reporting findings
* Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
* Experience using Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools is desirable
* Professional memberships (CIBSE, IET, etc.) desirable but not essential
