Inclusion Room Manager
Location: Slough Pay Range: Level 5 SCP 13–23, fringe £26,087 – £30,732 actual (FTE £30,160 – £35,530) Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8.00am–4.00pm), 44.5 weeks per year Contract: Term Time + 5 INSET Days
A secondary school in Slough is seeking to appoint a highly effective and experienced Inclusion Room Manager to join its dedicated pastoral support team.
This important role exists to provide additional capacity to a team committed to helping young people achieve their full potential—academically, socially and personally. The Inclusion Room Manager will play a central part in shaping and delivering an effective behaviour intervention curriculum for targeted students.
About the Role
* Support, mentor and advocate for an identified group of students to promote successful engagement in learning and wider school life.
* Lead and manage the Inclusion Room, ensuring a calm, structured environment with suitable behaviour interventions and support.
* Plan and deliver both short-term and long-term behaviour intervention programmes.
* Support students’ reintegration into mainstream lessons through monitoring and targeted intervention.
* Work in partnership with families to strengthen home–school engagement.
* Support teachers with effective strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operation of the Inclusion Room, enabling students to reflect on and improve their behaviour.
* Deliver personalised sessions, including mentoring, to ensure exceptional progress for targeted students.
* Maintain a calm working environment, motivating and challenging students positively.
* Plan engaging activities that promote positive behaviour and community values.
* Liaise with teaching staff to gather resources and information to support Inclusion Room learning.
* Collaborate with pastoral colleagues, including Heads of Year, SENDCo and the safeguarding team, to plan and coordinate interventions.
* Ensure individual support plans reflect appropriate behaviour strategies for staff to use.
* Provide advice, training and guidance to staff on promoting positive choices and de-escalation techniques.
* Work with external agencies supporting students, ensuring aligned and effective provision.
* Plan group and individual programmes aimed at improving behaviour, life skills and future aspirations.
* Understand the SEND needs of identified students and apply appropriate strategies.
