Job Description
The key responsibilities in this role include:
1. Management of the External Audit and Statutory Reporting Processes for the subsidiary.
2. Quarterly preparation of VAT returns.
3. Responsible for corporate tax filings, liaising with Group Tax for the tax computation, providing additional analysis and support as required.
4. Ensuring a robust and efficient control environment compliant with Group guidelines and controls.
5. Oversight of activities with Internal Audit and remediation plans/projects, working with Operational Finance to resolve issues.
6. Ownership of subsidiary budgets and forecasts, including reporting and associated processes.
7. Preparation of balance sheet forecasts.
8. Regular review and reporting of performance against plan and latest forecasts.
9. Preparation of monthly management reports, including internal reporting submissions to Group, and continuous improvement of balance sheet reconciliations.
Other Requirements for Group
Support on all other External Reporting requirements, including provision of insurance information, branch/operational filings, ONS returns, and support for balance sheet reconciliation and review processes. Drive continuous improvement and provide coaching where needed.
Assist the Finance Reporting team with ad-hoc projects, reports, and analysis. Support on intercompany recharges, cost allocations, and the development of accounting processes for these transactions.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have:
* A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
* Prior experience in a technical accounting role is preferred.
* Proficiency with accounting software and tools.
* Strong Excel skills for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
* Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports, conduct variance analysis, and provide insights.
* Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and re-forecasting.
* Expertise in preparing financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 or IFRS.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance, including tax regulations and filings.
