Do you have excellent electrical fault-finding skills on equipment? Are you looking for your first role in rolling stock? Already working on trains but seeking a change? We are looking for Rolling Stock Electrical Technicians to join one of our key rail clients based in Leicester on a permanent basis.
The individual will be working with state-of-the-art locomotives and be an integral part of the team. The position includes travel to other sites during the introduction phase. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to the rolling stock industry; however, candidates from related fields such as RAF, REME, avionics, FMCG, offshore, brewery, mining, navy, army, armed forces, and other equipment-based industries will also be considered, provided they have the required fault finding and diagnosis skills.
This role offers a salary of £56,106 per annum (with shift allowance), rising to £59,612 per annum (with shift allowance) after completing competencies. The role involves shift work covering 24/7, including possible night shifts, and is based on a 36-hour workweek. It is an electrical bias role, and candidates will be required to pass an electrical fault-finding assessment as part of the recruitment process.
Your Tasks
1. Undertake fault finding and identify the necessary repairs.
2. Support all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and interfaces.
3. Provide technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents.
4. Provide leadership and supervision to production teams as required.
5. Act as systems specialists across various systems distributed throughout the team.
6. Perform functional system tests on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems, including specific measurements as prescribed or required.
Your Profile
Essential:
* Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds / BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic bias.
* Extensive professional engineering experience in maintenance.
* Knowledge and experience in modern technical systems, fault-finding techniques, and the interaction between these systems.
* Experience in conducting and leading complex root cause investigations and reading electrical/mechanical schematics competently.
* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
