As a Senior Electrical Engineer within one of our four business units, you’ll provide engineering technical direction to the discipline engineers in your area, provide design support for schemes, and ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. You’ll check electrical design deliverables produced by others to ensure processes are followed and you’ll coach and mentor junior engineers.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Regularly report to the Principal Engineer.
* Collaborate with Principal Engineer, Portfolio Design Managers and Project Design Managers to capture upcoming project milestones and design review dates.
* Check specifications, schedules, datasheets, drawings, and 3D models to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards are met.
* Coach and mentor junior and less experienced members of the electrical team.
* Review construction site and supply chain design queries and change requests to ensure quick, accurate responses and appropriate design remains suitable.
* Input into Construction Design Management (CDM) and commissioning strategy meetings.
* Update and collaborate with the Principal Engineer and Design Managers on potential improvements.
* Liaise with other departments and project teams regarding design requirements.
* Manage quality through the design workflow in line with the project timeline.
* Support other leads and discipline engineers to deliver outputs to time and quality standards.
* Drive sustainability and low carbon designs.
* Drive offsite build, modular construction, and repeatable solutions.


About You

You will ideally have:

* An engineering or equivalent degree, or demonstrated degree-level knowledge through experience; ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered status
* Experience of water-sector assets and capital projects is essential
* Comfortable with relevant regulations, standards, and codes of practice
* Experience in leadership, mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers

Place Based Thinking

The Place Based Thinking team delivers major projects across the @one Alliance, managing networks from rising and gravity mains to pumping stations and water recycling centres.


Water

The Water Business Unit provides strategic support across the clean water network, assessing hydraulic state, planning infrastructure, and improving network efficiency.


Water Recycling (East and West)

Responsible for collection, conveyance, and treatment of wastewater across a large network, operating thousands of kilometres of sewerage infrastructure and treatment centres.
