About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional Head of Operations to join our senior leadership team at a pivotal moment in FuelQ's growth. We've just launched the most advanced fuel card solution the UK market has ever seen, and we need someone who can help us scale it aggressively.

As our Head of Operations, you'll be at the heart of our commercial engine, managing strategic partnerships that drive customer acquisition, coordinating cross‑functional growth initiatives, and building the operational infrastructure we need to dominate this market.

This isn't a typical operations role. You'll be working directly with the CEO to execute on an ambitious growth strategy, building partnerships similar to our Motorsport UK arrangement, hiring senior commercial talent, and ensuring we deliver an exceptional customer experience at scale.


What You'll Do


Commercial Partnerships & Customer Acquisition

* Own and develop our partnership strategy with membership organisations, industry bodies, fleet associations, and businesses that serve our target customers
* Build a pipeline of strategic B2B2C partnerships (like Motorsport UK) that introduce FuelQ® to their networks at scale
* Negotiate partnership terms and create compelling propositions that benefit both parties
* Manage existing partnerships to maximise customer acquisition and ensure seamless onboarding
* Identify unconventional partnership opportunities in the automotive, commercial vehicle, and business services sectors


Operational Leadership & Growth Execution

* Work closely with our Head of Customer Engagement (Stephen) and CFO (Steve) to orchestrate growth initiatives and operational excellence
* Lead the recruitment and onboarding of a senior sales professional to target SMEs, fleets, and high‑mileage business users
* Build and refine processes, systems and workflows that allow us to scale without losing our service edge
* Support the establishment of our central London office as a hub for mid‑week team collaboration
* Manage relationships with our external agencies (advertising, development, email marketing) ensuring ROI and strategic alignment
* Own key operational metrics and provide clear visibility to the leadership team


Strategic Projects

* Translate our growth strategy into actionable plans with clear milestones and accountability
* Spot operational bottlenecks before they become problems and implement solutions
* Support product development with operational insights from partnerships and customer feedback
* Drive initiatives that strengthen our market position and competitive advantage


What We're Looking For

* Proven track record in partnerships, operations, or commercial roles with measurable impact
* Experience building and managing B2B2C partnerships or customer acquisition channels
* Strong commercial instincts with the ability to spot opportunities and close deals
* Outstanding project management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* Hands‑on mentality and comfort working in a lean, senior team where everyone gets their hands dirty
* Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills at all levels
* Data‑driven approach to decision making with strong analytical capabilities
* Experience in fintech, fuel, fleet management, automotive, or B2B financial services
* Understanding of how membership organisations and affinity partnerships work
* Track record of hiring and developing commercial talent
* Familiarity with app‑based products or tech‑enabled financial services
* Background in business development or partnership sales
