Madisons Recruitment are recruiting for a Business Development Manager on a permanent basis to start ASAP for a client of ours based in Hastings.
This is a fully remote position, however you will be required to be in office 1 day a week (usually Wednesdays). You will be required to operate, win new business and grow current accounts acrossSouth of England, Bristol, East Anglia and up to Nottingham.Travel required to pre start meetings etc at client request.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationships
* Engaged with and developed strategic relationships with both new and existing clients.
* Researched and identified new business opportunities, prospect trends, and emerging market areas.
* Built and maintained strong internal relationships with sales and marketing teams.
* Created and implemented account management plans to ensure long-term client retention.
Planning & Project Oversight
* Provided senior leadership with regular forecasts of prospective projects against monthly targets.
* Oversaw the planning and execution of pre-award meetings, project delivery, and final account closure.
Communication & Negotiation
* Ensured high-quality communication with clients, following up on all discussions and documenting changes throughout projects.
* Delivered persuasive service pitches in client meetings, ensuring clear representation of capabilities.
* Coordinated internal communication to keep staff informed of project developments and updates.
Documentation & Compliance
* Supervised the completion of pre-qualification documents and client account management requirements.
* Ensured compliance with quality management processes across all project documentation.
Market Awareness & Strategy
* Maintained awareness of industry marketing principles and proactively applied them to business activities.
* Contributed to the development and execution of strategies aligned with quality management standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Proven track record in sales, marketing, and business development at senior management level (3+ years).
* Strong ability to identify and convert new revenue opportunities.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Skilled in negotiation, conflict resolution, and client engagement.
* Proficient in Microsoft applications.
* Degree-level qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field (advantageous).
Requirements
* A good working knowledge of the soft landscaping industry & associated marketing principles
* Proven experience of at least 3 years within a sales, marketing, business development role, at senior/management level required.
* Ability to identify and drive new revenue opportunities
* Excellent interpersonal skills to engage new clients and maintain existing relationships
* A proactive approach to work and an understanding of your contribution to the company as a whole.
* Proficient in all Microsoft applications
* Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills
* Degree level in Business, Marketing or related field of advantage
