RDC Manager
Location: Bristol‑Avonmouth
Working Hours: Monday‑Friday, 45 hours per week (no weekends, 6am start)
Starting Salary: £40,000 per annum
Role Overview
This role offers a strong work‑life balance with no weekend hours, opportunities to earn overtime, and the chance to manage an expanding Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet. You will lead the Regional Distribution Centre team and ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
* Ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, are roadworthy, and operate within legal requirements (payload, tachograph, etc.).
* Establish and maintain personnel files for all RDC staff and keep records up to date.
* Motivate staff; hold regular monthly meetings, produce and distribute minutes.
* Instruct drivers on operational procedures, quality standards, and security protocols.
* Cover delivery routes for staff holidays, absences, and ad‑hoc volume drops.
Qualifications
* Hold a current full C1 driving licence with no more than 6 minor offence penalty points.
* Working knowledge of tachographs and EU driving regulations under the Working Time Directive.
* Organised, flexible, and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
* Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills; team‑orientated.
* Knowledge of tachograph and driver’s hours regulations.
* Complete a CRB check.
* Excellent customer service skills; basic PC skills (Word, Excel).
