About Us
Hethersett Community Post Office is a community-run, not-for-profit Post Office and shop, dedicated to serving local residents and keeping essential Post Office services open.
Run by Hethersett Hearts CIC (Community Interest Company) we rely on our team of amazing volunteers to make this possible as standalone, local Post Offices are not profitable.
Our Post Office provides vital Post Office Services including mails and parcels, banking, DVLA licensing and bill payment services, alongside a small retail space offering a great selection of greetings cards, gift wrap and party supplies as well as stationery and postal items such a parcel wrap, envelopes, boxes, bubble wrap and tape
We're passionate about supporting our community and rely on volunteers to make this possible. As a volunteer with us, you'll play a key role in keeping this much-needed service running for everyone and will be a highly valued member of our team.
The Role
We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our team and help behind the Post Office counter and in the retail shop. This is a hands-on role where you'll be helping local people with everything from posting parcels to buying that perfect birthday card for a relative.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting customers with Post Office transactions and retail purchases.
* Providing a warm, helpful, and professional service.
* Handling cash and card transactions accurately.
* Keeping the shop tidy, stocked, and welcoming.
* Working as part of a small, supportive volunteer team.
What We're Looking For
* A friendly attitude and a genuine interest in helping the community.
* Good communication and basic numeracy skills.
* Reliability and honesty – our community depends on you
* No Post Office experience needed – full training will be provided.
If you have previous retail or Post Office experience, that's fantastic, but it's not essential.

Additional Information
Our Post Office operates Monday – Saturday and we can work with you to agree on a regular shift that fits your schedule.
