We have an exciting opportunity for 3 new Assistant Psychologists to join our values driven Educational Psychology service, following our current Assistant Psychologists being successful in gaining places on the Child and Educational Psychology doctoral training course.
We have a large stable team, including Senior EPs, Specialist Senior EPs, EPs, Trainee EPs and Assistant Psychologists. We also have dedicated admin staff who support our team. We are committed to ongoing development and applying psychology in creative and innovative ways to support positive outcomes for children and young people. We have a focus on promoting inclusion and wellbeing and engaging in preventative and early intervention work.
We are looking for 3 new Assistant Psychologists to join our team to support us in:
* Implementing a whole school development project focussed on wellbeing, inclusion, and trauma informed approaches. The Assistant Psychologist role includes facilitation of focus groups, walk throughs, surveys, supporting the delivery of whole school training, and supporting the development planning cycles.
* Delivering early targeted intervention to individual or groups of children and young people in schools (including Lego Building Group, GRASP, Managing Exam & Work Related Anxiety, Circle of Friends & an EBSNA intervention).
* Providing support to vulnerable children and young people through our partnership work with Power 2, Virtual School and Youth Justice Service.
* Delivering our statutory, core and traded services to schools.
* Developing and delivering training for schools, services and parents/carers.
* Developing and delivering project work to support service development and Council priorities.
Our work is highly valued by the council, schools and other partners and we have a wide service offer which ensures that we provide an interesting range of work for Assistant Psychologists. Assistant Psychologists will receive regular quality supervision by a qualified EP and will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Assistant Psychologists, Trainee EPs, qualified EPs and senior EPs. There is some flexibility in the allocation of work for Assistant Psychologists so that we can utilise individual strengths, provide opportunities for development and support progression on to the Child & Educational Psychology professional training course.

Interviews will take place week commencing 16th and 23rd June 2026. Please note there will be two stages of the interview process and it will consist of a group task and written task at stage 1, followed by a formal interview with a presentation at stage 2.
