How you could help us to Enchant the World with Chocolate
The Head of PMO is accountable for the effective planning, prioritisation, and delivery of a complex portfolio of transformation and value-driving initiatives across the UK&I market. The role exists to bring structure, clarity, and pace to a high-change environment where multiple programmes and projects compete for the same resources and leadership attention. The Head of PMO will ensure that the right work is prioritised, dependencies are actively managed, and delivery risks are surfaced and addressed early. The role requires a credible leader with strong people management capability, excellent stakeholder influence, and the confidence to challenge constructively to protect outcomes and value.
Where you’ll be based
This role is based in our Head Office in Richmond Upon Thames with hybrid working. (in the office 60% and WFH 40%).
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Governance & Prioritisation
1. Own the end-to-end governance of the transformation and project portfolio
2. Ensure clear prioritisation aligned to strategic objectives and capacity constraints
3. Provide transparency on trade-offs, sequencing, and resource demand
Programme & Project Delivery
4. Oversee delivery of multiple, concurrent programmes and projects with conflicting priorities
5. Ensure robust plans, milestones, dependencies, and risk management are in place
6. Intervene decisively where delivery is at risk
Stakeholder Management & Influence
7. Work closely with senior leaders to align expectations, manage dependencies, and resolve conflicts
8. Influence without authority, taking stakeholders with you through change
9. Provide clear, confident communication on progress, risks, and decisions
PMO Standards & Ways of Working
10. Define and embed PMO standards, tools, and methodologies appropriate to the organisation
11. Balance governance discipline with pragmatic delivery focus
12. Ensure consistent reporting and decision-making forums
Benefits & Value Realisation, financial / budget management
13. Ensure initiatives are clearly linked to measurable outcomes and benefits
14. Track delivery of value and escalate where benefits are at risk
15. Partner with Finance to ensure credibility of business cases and outcomes
16. Work with project managers and finance to manage the overall financial impact of projects
17. Coordinate robust Post Implementation Reviews to ensure projects meet defined objectives
Resource & Capacity Management
18. Actively manage resource demand across programmes and projects
19. Surface capacity constraints early and support prioritisation decisions
20. Enable effective utilisation of key skills and expertise
Team Leadership & Development
21. Lead and develop the PMO team, building strong delivery capability and confidence
22. Act as a role model people leader with clear expectations and accountability
23. Build credibility and trust across the organisation
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Preferred
24. Proven experience leading a PMO or large transformation portfolio in a complex organisation
25. Strong people management experience with a track record of developing teams
26. Demonstrated success delivering multiple, high-impact initiatives under pressure
27. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level
28. Commercially minded with a strong focus on value delivery and outcomes
29. Comfortable operating in ambiguity, conflict, and change
30. High credibility as a leader who can challenge constructively and build alignment
