IT / Digital Project Manager Project Manager - £650 per day - Inside IR35 - Hybrid working from a site near Leiston - 6 Months initial contract. Our client is delivering one of the most significant nuclear new build programmes in the UK, playing a critical role in the country's transition to secure, low-carbon energy. As part of this major infrastructure project, they are seeking a highly capable IT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Digital and IT projects across a diverse and complex portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment and can balance strong technical understanding with structured delivery and stakeholder engagement. The Role - You will be responsible for defining, planning, executing, and closing projects to agreed time, cost, and quality baselines. Working across multiple concurrent initiatives, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage suppliers, and ensure delivery aligns with governance, regulatory, and information security requirements. Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end delivery of Digital and IT projects, from initiation through to post go-live support Develop and maintain Project Initiation Documents (PIDs), including robust cost, schedule, and resource estimates Produce and manage detailed project plans, including critical paths, dependencies, and resource allocation Oversee delivery partners and suppliers, ensuring contractual and quality expectations are met Manage all phases of the project lifecycle: design, build, test, deployment, and business readiness Proactively manage risks, issues, and change requests, escalating where required Build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure engagement, alignment, and successful outcomes Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, regulatory standards, and information security requirements Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting to programme leadership, PMO, and governance boards Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice sharing Project Scope - You will typically manage 2 to 4 concurrent projects, with budgets ranging from £50k to £1.5m. Projects may span several months to multiple years and involve coordination of internal teams, contractors, Tier 1 suppliers, and third-party partners. Knowledge and Skills - Essential - Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Prince2 Practitioner, APM, or equivalent) Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and digital service delivery Proven supplier and vendor management experience Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills Desirable - Experience working with Agile delivery approaches Familiarity with ITIL and service transition processes Experience and Qualifications - Essential - Demonstrable experience delivering complex IT or business change projects, ideally in regulated or safety-critical environments Experience managing project budgets up to £1.5m Proven ability to lead multi-vendor, multi-disciplinary teams Strong decision-making skills, balancing compliance with practical delivery needs Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Resilient, adaptable, and able to perform in dynamic delivery environments Desirable - Experience in nuclear, energy, or major infrastructure sectors Familiarity with structured IT governance frameworks and standards Background in construction or engineering project environments A mindset focused on continuous improvement and delivery excellence
