This is an exciting opportunity to join Group Internal Audit (GIA), a team that supports the Board to protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of Royal London Group, and create value through impactful assurance. As an Internal Audit Manager, you will contribute to delivering impactful audit work, strengthening risk and control culture, and helping shape GIA's strategy. You'll be part of a forward‑thinking audit function that provides core assurance and insightful advice, offering exposure across the Group, senior stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to influence decisions that genuinely matter.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to developing the annual audit plan and deliver audits on time, within cost, and to quality standards, along with other experienced auditors in the GIA team.
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Actuarial or IT.
* Influence senior stakeholders to embed robust governance, risk management and controls into strategic decision making.
* Build credible and powerful relationships with senior stakeholders, demonstrating robust judgement, insight and thought leadership.
* Generate recommendations that improve business processes and demonstrate commercial awareness; provide impactful and insightful assurance and advice.
* Identify and assess key controls and their management.
* Coordinate audit delivery with other controls testing teams and Group Risk & Compliance.
Qualifications
* Recognised specialist professional qualification in Actuarial or IT (e.g., FFA, FIA, CISA, CRISC, CISM).
* IA and/or risk management qualification or experience preferred.
* Comprehensive knowledge of life and pensions insurance products and/or asset management throughout their lifecycle (design to launch, sales, experience, and distribution).
* Sound knowledge of recent developments and challenges faced by the insurance and asset management industry, and ability to assess how best to respond to resultant risks.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience of data analytics and use of AI in a risk or assurance setting.
