Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading Aerospace organisation to recruit a Semi Skilled Sealer & Polisher for an initial 6 month contract.
This role will be on Double Days shift, working week One Monday to Thursday 6am – 2pm and Fridays 6am to 1.30pm then week Two Monday to Thursday 2pm to 10pm and Friday 2pm to 9.30pm
The role would be full time onsite in East Cowes.
The rate of pay on offer is £18.54 Per Hour PAYE

ROLE PURPOSE:
- To seal/clean/polish/paint touch up internal and external assemblies and sub-assemblies within the paint shop and/or out in the production areas, in jig, to customer tolerances and specifications.
- Job holders will be required to achieve a “certified” status where applicable and will receive relevant training to undertake their tasks safely, and to a high quality level, through a Job Instruction Process. Requirements will be set out in their role/department competence matrix.
- Job holder will be supported by their Team Leader (TL), who will enable training or coaching required to support them in their role and will quickly respond to them if they find any off-standard/quality issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To carry out a range of semi-skilled tasks to aid in meeting production requirements.
Depending on requirements and location within the company, to undertake one or more of the following examples:
- Sealing
- Cleaning
- Part movement
- Painting (touch up)
- Polishing
- Part making parts to production order and drawing requirements
- Undertake all tasks in compliance with standard work and the training provided.
- At all times comply with the Site's Business Management System (BMS) / Quality Management System (QMS).
- Make any problems; safety, quality, or other immediately known to the Team Leader or Inspector.
- Be a Lean advocate implementing at least 1 Kaizen (problem identified and solved) per month.
- Support the Team, Team Leader & Inspectors with problem solving by contributing ideas and solutions based upon own experience of tasks.
- Understand the Team's key performance indicators for People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost and their personal contribution to improving them.
- Hold themselves, and fellow team members accountable to the 5 GKNA culture principles (Safe, Respect & Care, Open & Honest, Innovative, Ownership).
- Comply with all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements including export control regulations.
