About us
At Naphill and Walters Ash School, we value high standards and achievement. We encourage our children to think independently, make links in their learning and to respect the world they live in. Most of all, we encourage children to have a positive approach to learning as this is something that they can then take with them wherever they go.
We are a collaborative team with a strong commitment to inclusion and to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND. Teaching Assistants are valued as integral to our pupils' progress, and we provide ongoing access CPD, including training in SEND specific approaches and strategies.
About the role
The role requires the individual to support pupils in lessons within the classroom and in small groups. One of the pupils has an EHCP so the Teaching Assistant will be required to implement the relevant provision as set out on the child’s EHCP, including targeted interventions. They will also keep intervention records, monitor progress against targets and liaise with the class teacher and SENDCo so that all key information is available for SEN support plan and EHCP Annual Reviews. You would also be required to assist the SENDCo with SEN admin as and when needed.

· Confidence in liaising with class teachers, parents and outside professionals
· Good level of spoken and written English / Maths
· Knowledge of KS1 Curriculum
· Understanding of Autism and ADHD
· Ability to adapt tasks to meet the needs of the child
· Experience in working with a child with SEN needs
