Our Key Priorities Safeguarding adults at risk of harm and abuse Building resilient, caring communities that help people stay well connected Supporting independence through early help and co-production Promoting strength-based practice and digital/community-based solutions Investing in a skilled, flexible, and resilient workforce Enabling people to take control of their care and support options Strengthening partnerships to embed an all-age disability service As a Social Worker in Adult Social Care, you’ll be central to promoting strength-based and personalised approaches that support people to achieve their goals, remain independent, and enhance their wellbeing. You’ll work across a wide range of adult client groups and pathways – including safeguarding, mental health, disabilities, older adults, hospital discharge, and community teams. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence service delivery through innovation, continuous learning, and quality assurance. Please note this role does not attract sponsorship. About You What You’ll Bring: Social Work qualification (BSc, DipSW, CQSW or international equivalent) Current registration with Social Work England Proven post-qualifying experience in social/health care Experience with complex cases, crisis interventions, and safeguarding Strong skills in co-producing care and support plans Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, and Making Safeguarding Personal Experience mentoring, coaching, and supervising staff (desirable) Skilled in multi-agency working and partnership development Familiarity with tech-enabled care, early help, and preventative approaches AMHP and/or BIA qualified (or willing to train) Commitment to equality, culturally competent practice, and user empowerment Why Join Luton Council? A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
