Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Year 6 Class Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington from September 2025. This is a unique opportunity to work with Upper Key Stage 2 pupils, prepare them for transition to secondary school, and support colleagues in delivering high-quality Maths education.
Responsibilities
* Teach a Year 6 class, providing engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
* Prepare pupils for transition to secondary school, including SATs readiness.
* Support the wellbeing and academic progress of all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL.
* Work collaboratively with staff and parents to foster a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Proven experience teaching in Upper KS2 (Year 5/6)
* Strong knowledge of National curriculum and teaching strategies
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
Desirable
* Experience as a subject leader or curriculum coordinator
* Familiarity with primary school assessment systems
* Experience with SATs preparation and tracking pupil progress
