A family-run 24/7 hospital in Leeds is seeking an experienced and dedicated OOH ECC Veterinary Surgeon. The successful candidate will join a supportive team, providing high-quality care to a wide variety of cases. The Role:
1. This position is a 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota.
2. The role involves supporting the existing veterinary team with their complex caseload.
3. The successful candidate will have solid medical and surgical skills, with experience in ECC being essential.
4. The ability to embrace all aspects of the role, delivering excellent patient and client care, is key to success in this position.

Skills and Experience:

7. Oesophageal tube placements
8. Seldinger Chest Drain placements
9. Silicone Abdominal Peritoneal Drains
10. Pig tail urinary catheters
11. TFAST AFAST
12. Endoscopy
13. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
14. Urinary Catheterisation
Night Duties:
The night team regularly performs caesareans, pyometra, exploratory laparotomy with enterotomy and enterectomy. They also handle many Addisonian, Ketoacidotic diabetic cases and severe pancreatitis cases.

It is a family-run, RCVS Accredited Hospital and Emergency Service Clinic, providing OOH and referral support to 16 referring surgeries. The hospital is run alongside a thriving first opinion business, offering a variety typically found in a busy general practice. The bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose-built to industry-leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment. The team comprises 70 members, which include 15 vets, day and night nurse teams, and supporting day and night VCAs.
