In this role you will lead commissioning and service operations across the EMEA region. This strategic role focuses on ensuring the seamless deployment, optimization, and performance of our intelligent fluid-flow systems. This role will manage teams across EMEA region. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
* Develop, implement, and continuously refine the commissioning and service strategy for the EMEA region, ensuring alignment with Armstrong's global business objectives.
* Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and customer requirements to inform strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities.
* Establish clear regional performance targets and objectives including service value, cost effectiveness and growth, and ensure teams are aligned to achieve them.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of commissioning engineers, service technicians, and support staff.
* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the region.
* Identify skills gaps and training needs and implement development programs to build technical and leadership capability.
* Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and implement succession planning for key roles.
Operational Excellence & Commissioning Oversight
* Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of commissioning projects across multiple sites and countries, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
* Ensure that all commissioning projects meet technical specifications, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.
* Implement standardized processes for commissioning and service delivery, incorporating best practices, tools, and reporting frameworks.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Customer Relationship Management
* Act as the senior point of contact for key clients during commissioning and service engagements, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their operational needs, provide technical guidance, and resolve any issues promptly.
* Gather customer feedback and insights to inform service improvements and innovation.
Contract & Vendor Management
* Manage contracts and agreements with external service providers, ensuring compliance with Armstrong standards, safety regulations, and performance expectations.
* Monitor contractor and supplier performance, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money.
* Negotiate service agreements and maintain long-term partnerships with vendors and stakeholders.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
* Drive innovation in service delivery, including implementing Armstrong's SMART Commissioning and Recommissioning programs to optimize system efficiency.
* Evaluate service processes and implement improvements to enhance quality, reduce risk, and deliver cost savings.
* Promote adoption of digital tools, remote monitoring, and predictive maintenance techniques across the EMEA service operation.
Collaboration & Cross-functional Alignment
* Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure smooth project handovers and alignment on customer expectations.
* Contribute to product development feedback loops by providing insights from service delivery and commissioning experiences.
* Represent the EMEA service function at leadership meetings, global forums, and industry conferences.
Reporting & Compliance
* Develop and maintain robust reporting structures for regional commissioning and service activities, including performance, safety, and financial metrics.
* Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations, standards, and best practices in all service activities.
* Proactively identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
Education & Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
* Professional certifications in commissioning, project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2), or energy management (e.g., CEM, BREEAM, LEED) are highly desirable.
* Substantial work experience in commissioning, service management, or operational leadership within the HVAC and data centres or fluid-flow systems sectors across EMEA region.
* Significant experience in a senior leadership or management role, with proven responsibility for multi-site teams, budgets, and complex project delivery.
* Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams through large-scale projects and service programs across EMEA.
* Proven track record of successfully implementing service strategies, driving operational excellence, and achieving measurable performance improvements.
* Experience managing customer relationships at senior or executive levels, with a strong focus on client satisfaction, retention, and service quality.
* Exposure to contract management, vendor negotiation, and monitoring third-party service providers for compliance, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
* Experience implementing innovative commissioning methodologies, energy optimization programs, or predictive maintenance solutions is highly desirable.
* Deep understanding of fluid-flow systems, including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and integrated control systems.
* Strong knowledge of building automation in HVAC/data centres technologies, and energy-efficient system design and commissioning.
* Familiarity with SMART Commissioning, SMART Recommissioning, and digital service tools for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and system optimization.
* Solid understanding of relevant regulatory standards, compliance requirements, and safety protocols across Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
* Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
* Proven ability to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, financial targets, and operational KPIs effectively.
