Job Title: 1:1 SEN Support Assistant
Location: Knowsley, Liverpool
Start Date: September 1st 2025
Salary: GBP105 GBP115 per day
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
About the Role:
We are seeking committed and resilient Teaching Assistants to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Knowsley, Liverpool. This specialist provision supports pupils aged 5 to 16, providing both primary and secondary alternative education for those who have been permanently excluded or require a more supportive setting than mainstream school can offer.

Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and within small class groups
Assist with emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour strategies
Work closely with teaching staff to deliver targeted learning activities
Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to support their progress and well-being
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 months classroom experience in the UK
Experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or in an alternative provision is desirable
Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
A positive, empathetic attitude and commitment to pupil inclusion
Eligibility:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced Child Barred List DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
Two professional references related to childcare or education
Available to work full-time from September 1st
