The Opportunity
A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and committed Autism Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive educational setting in Somerset.
This full-time role is available for an immediate start, working with young people aged 11–19 across secondary and further education provision.
About the Setting
This well-respected provision offers a structured, nurturing environment for pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, PMLD, SLD, MLD, and associated visual and complex needs.
The setting is known for its personalised approach, where every learner is supported to develop independence, communication skills, and confidence. Staff work collaboratively to ensure each student can access meaningful learning experiences tailored to their individual needs.
The Role
You will support students both in and out of the classroom, helping them engage with learning, develop social skills, and regulate their emotions.
The role involves working closely with teachers and specialists to deliver tailored support, using a range of strategies and resources to meet diverse needs. You will also play a key role in promoting a calm, positive, and inclusive environment.
Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour
Requirements
A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach is essential.
Previous experience supporting young people, particularly those with autism or complex needs, is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
