Joining our friendly and hardworking family as a Yard Sales Assistant
You'll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our yard. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first-class service.
What will I be doing?
No two days are the same in TP branch life, but here are some key responsibilities:
1. Delivering the highest standards of customer service by being helpful and friendly at all times, building relationships with customers.
2. Processing customer orders outside, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
3. Unloading building products from supplier deliveries and accurately booking them into the branch warehouse.
4. Using a forklift is ideal, but full training will be provided.
5. Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment to ensure safety standards are upheld.
What skills do you need?
This is a key customer-facing role. You just need to be able to provide great customer service. We can teach you the rest.
Does this sound like you?
We hope you can say ‘Yes’ to all of the following characteristics, which are in the DNA of all our Yard Sales Assistants:
1. Someone who is physically active, as the role involves lifting heavy building materials outside.
2. A friendly and outgoing personality, happy to communicate face-to-face with customers and build strong relationships.
3. Someone who is adaptable, resilient, and tenacious, with high energy and drive.
4. Someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Being a Yard Sales Assistant at TP offers a fantastic opportunity to excel and develop your career. You will be encouraged to enroll in a TP development scheme, available to colleagues and managers at all levels. We support your growth with a development plan aligned with our values.
You’ll also receive Competitive pay + Benefits, including an annual colleague bonus, contributory pension, private healthcare, life assurance, sharesave scheme, and discounts across the Travis Perkins Group and other retailers. Our working hours promote a great work-life balance, with most customers enjoying weekends and bank holidays off.
Despite our size, Travis Perkins values a family-run business ethos and a forward-thinking mindset. We are proud to be voted one of the UK’s Top Employers every year since 2010, offering extensive career opportunities across our five leading businesses, operating over 1400 outlets with more than 20,000 colleagues.
