This is an hourly paid role working the 7-day fortnight pattern. 5 days one week, 2 days second week £13.50p/h – shift premiums for weekend working (Saturday x1.5, Sunday x2.0) Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of machinery involved in production. Responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining production equipment to ensure product quality, consistency, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery (e.g. mixers, Cooling towers, packaging lines). Adjust machine settings according to product specifications and batch requirements via PLC and manual controls. Perform regular checks to ensure machines are running efficiently and safely, optimise yields & performance. Quality Control: Monitor the texture, temperature, appearance and consistency of product during processing. Collect samples for lab testing to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards Report any inconsistencies or faults to the Production Manager. Record batch information and production data accurately. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Carry out routine cleaning. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical / packaging issues and liaise with the maintenance team and production managers when required.
