Mechanical Ventilation Engineer

Responsibilities:
* Assist the Assistant Technical Services Manager (ventilation appointed person)
* Maintain the hospital ventilation system
* Maintain each air handling unit (monthly inspections and quarterly cleans)
* Clean grills/louvers site‑wide and perform other mechanical plantroom tasks as required by management
* Provide out‑of‑hours support for air handling units feeding sensitive departments such as operating theatres
* Respond proactively to reactive jobs: diagnostic, fault‑finding and repair of complex mechanical systems in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks across the site in line with the PPM programme, personal competence and training
Qualifications:
* Experience within a maintenance environment (previously worked within a maintenance environment)
* Good knowledge of complex mechanical systems (ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, domestic hot and cold water systems)
* City & Guilds relevant engineering discipline (Recognised apprenticeship at City & Guilds level)
* Competent Person experience involving HVAC (Previous Competent Person experience)
* Flexible shift system including nights (Prepared to work a flexible shift system including nights)
* Current valid driving licence (Desirable)
* Healthcare maintenance environment experience (Desirable)
* Authorised Person experience involving HVAC (Desirable)
