Offer description

Were offering an opportunity for experienced counsellors to provide short:term therapeutic support (up to 6 sessions) to students referred by London South Bank University (LSBU). This role focuses on delivering focused, solution:focused intervention aimed at helping students manage mental health or wellbeing concerns.

Key Details

* Students will be referred for up to six therapeutic sessions. Presenting concerns may include anxiety, low mood, procrastination, self:esteem issues, stress related to exams or deadlines, and other short:term wellbeing challenges.
* Counsellors will be required to deliver sessions in person at the LSBU Southwark campus.
* You will work on a contract:for:services basis. We cannot guarantee a set number of hours, as this depends on referral volume.
* In:Person Rate: GBP28 per 60:minute unit (50 minute session + 10 minutes note taking). In addition to your hourly rate, you will accrue holiday pay at 12 of your average earnings (approximately GBP3.36 per 60:minute unit). This enables you to build up paid leave to use during quieter periods, such as university holidays.









Your Responsibilities

* Provide one:to:one therapeutic input designed to help students explore their concerns, identify practical strategies, and gain clarity or direction over the course of up to six sessions.
* Build rapport quickly to create a safe, supportive space where students feel comfortable discussing their concerns and working towards achievable goals.
* Follow all safeguarding procedures set by both Randstad and London South Bank University. You must adhere to risk assessment protocols and appropriately escalate any concerns. All information must be handled confidentially and in compliance with GDPR





What Were Looking For

* Accredited membership with the BACP (Or equivalent) is essential.
* You must engage in regular clinical supervision to support ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
* A minimum of 300 clinical hours is required. Experience working in a university setting or with young adults is beneficial but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS (Or equivalent)

Desirable Skills

* Risk Management: Ability to assess and respond effectively to risk or safeguarding concerns.
* Triage Skills: Confidence in quickly identifying students needs and signposting to appropriate services when necessary.
