An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join a well-established company in the manufacturing sector. You will be joining at a time when the business is focused on achieving significant cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and supplier service levels. You will play a key role in managing the procurement process and driving efficiencies within the supply chain.
Your new role
1. Management of all component stock levels.
2. Management of existing and new suppliers.
3. Identifying opportunities for improvement within procurement and material functions, focusing on reducing stock levels, shortening supplier lead times, and improving stock availability.
4. Participating in production meetings to ensure that material availability supports production requirements.
5. Managing the sourcing process and ERP transactions to optimise internal efficiency and minimise costs.
6. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong proficiency in IT, particularly with Excel and ERP systems.
* Microsoft Office – Intermediate minimum proficiency.
* Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
* The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines and make informed decisions under pressure.
* A proactive, methodical, and organised approach to tasks.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining collaborative relationships.
