The role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Accounts Assistant to support a growing finance team with daily accounting operations. The successful candidate will assist with processing invoices, recording financial transactions, reconciling bank and supplier statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities also include supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, preparing basic financial reports, assisting with month-end procedures, and handling general administrative tasks within the department.
About You
This is a role suited to a candidate who is self-motivated studying AAT or looking to begin their chartered qualification. You may have been a finance administrator, finance assistant, purchase ledger clerk or finance officer looking for an environment with better progression opportunities. You will have a can-do attitude and be focused on completing you exams as well as gaining real world experience. The ability to meet critical deadlines under pressure, and a logical, methodical approach to your work. Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role you will have be currently studying towards an AAT or ready to start your CIMA/ACCA qualification. Be highly motivated to progress quickly and successfully complete your exams with the support of a company that offers structured study Support. You will have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and core financial processes, along with some practical experience gained through an internship or entry-level role supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial data entry. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks are essential. The candidate should demonstrate excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills, with the ability to effectively balance work responsibilities alongside study commitments. A proactive attitude, eagerness to develop professionally, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are key to success in this role
