Join Our Team as a Senior Structural Engineer!
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic Design team in Liverpool. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of building types and site redevelopments across various sectors, including education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial projects for both public and private clients.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our Civil and Structural Engineering team. Your expertise will help us produce and check structural design calculations, prepare and verify structural drawings, and develop comprehensive design strategy reports. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
* Coordinate structural engineering design information with the Civil and Structural Engineering team and other technical disciplines, such as architecture and building services engineering.
* Set and implement effective structural concept design strategies for projects, ensuring we meet sustainability and low carbon targets.
* Occasionally visit sites for surveys and inspections, representing the structural engineering team at project meetings.
* Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of Continuing Professional Development.
* Assist in obtaining necessary consents for structural designs through Building Control and Building Safety Act processes.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
* Hold professional qualifications such as BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, and are a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers.
* Have a solid understanding of structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design in line with current British and European standards.
* Possess experience with CDM regulations and UK construction techniques, and have a proven track record of designing various building structures within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Are confident in attending design team and project meetings with clients, project managers, architects, and other construction professionals.
* Hold a full driving license to facilitate site visits.
Working Conditions
Location: Liverpool
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - with some flexibility available to suit your needs.
