About The Role
As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes, such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets, as part of a two-person delivery crew. Roles Available: Customer Delivery Hub Driver- Driver Trainee, Installer & Technician
Position: Permanent
Location: Cranbrook Way CDH (Solihull)
Salary: Starting rates: Driver Trainee £26,700/year, Installer £29,000/year, Technician £32,000/year
All roles require applicants to be over 18.
Driver Trainee Responsibilities:
* Complete a 12-month training program to become a qualified Customer Delivery Installer.
* Assist in loading deliveries, ensuring great customer service, and handling unexpected situations.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
* Maintain safety standards and handle heavy lifting (large items like sofas, white goods, etc.).
Essential Skills for Driver Trainee:
* UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Interest and understanding of technology and installation.
Desirable Skills for Driver Trainee:
* Previous installation and delivery experience.
Driver Installer Responsibilities:
* Start at the hub, then deliver and install products, demonstrating their operation.
* Ensure safety, handle large items, and provide excellent customer service.
Essential Skills for Driver Installer:
* Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles and in customer-facing roles.
Desirable Skills for Driver Installer:
* Experience with electrical and furniture product installation.
Driver Technician Responsibilities:
* Start at the hub, then deliver, install, and demonstrate various products.
* Coach and develop colleagues, ensure safety, and stay updated on products.
Essential Skills for Driver Technician:
* Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles and in customer roles.
Desirable Skills for Driver Technician:
* Experience with electrical and furniture installations, including white goods and wall-mounted TVs.
