The Recreation Therapist role will serve the town of Hythe, Alberta, specifically in the community of Pearson Place. The Recreation Therapist is responsible for ensuring resident care is a top priority, with a focus on effective time management.

* Engages in ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement.
* Awareness of accident and injury prevention, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting psychological health and safety of employee care partners.
* Supports residents' lifestyles in their community environment according to individualized Care Plans.
* Delegates, coordinates, and evaluates recreational services based on Resident and Service Plans.
* Oversees planning, implementation, and coordination of recreation programs.
* Enforces Emergency Management, Infection Control, WHMIS, and Health & Safety protocols.
* Performs additional duties as assigned related to the employee care partner role.
Foundational knowledge and experience:
* As of April 2021, a Degree in Recreation Therapy, Leisure Studies, or Recreation Administration is required; prior to this, Therapeutic Recreation diploma graduates recognized by ATRA are eligible.
* Registered with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) is mandatory.
* Experience in recreation programs and providing recreation therapy services is required.
* Leadership, facilitation, resolution, and investigation experience are required.
* Proven clinical practice experience is essential.
* Must obtain a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening prior to employment.
