Job Title: Maintenance Manager Location: Wigan Reporting to: Plant Manager Direct Reports: 10 Standard Hours (inc shift pattern): 40 hours per week Monday to Friday BMI UK&I have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is based in Wigan. Role Summary The Maintenance Manager leads and manages a multi-disciplined maintenance team to ensure that the plant's production operation achieves volume and quality targets. This role forms part of the plant's senior management team and plays a pivotal role in the plant's overall performance objectives. The Maintenance Manager works closely with the relevant Production Manager(s) and leads the maintenance strategy for the plant, which includes the management of all site facilities. As the Maintenance Manager, your key responsibilities will be: Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team to achieve goals and objectives Responsible for the management of all site maintenance activities. Develop and maintain a fully functional Planned Maintenance System. Ensure appropriate resources,assets and time are available for the application of a systematic approach to engineering maintenance. Accountable for H&S, COSHH, risk assessments and manual handling for all maintenance activities Ensure awareness and provision of training in a range of preventative maintenance techniques to deliver engineering performance targets Effective people management of your team in conjunction with HR and Company policies. Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with all plant functions, working particularly closely with the Production Manager and their teams. Effective and supportive management of all direct reports. Manage maintenance spares and control the maintenance budget. KPI’s routinely and systematically used to monitor and improve performance Accountable for all activities involving external contractors working on the site. Your key skills and experience will include: Degree or an HNC/HND level qualification in engineering/manufacturing. IOSH/ NEBOSH certificate. Deep and substantive of Maintenance management/supervisory experience. Knowledge and application of UK regulatory standards. Management experience in a fast paced environment. Excellent communicator with proven leadership skills. Experience of using a CMMS and competent IT user. Proven ability to coach and develop individuals and teams. Experience of budget control and working knowledge of MRO. Excellent Problem solver with lean/CI qualifications (desirable) Experience of working in high volume manufacturing (desirable) Experience of SAP PM module (HANA/S4) (desirable) If you do not have all key skills but still feel like you would be a good fit, please still apply and we will consider your application based on merit and experience.
