Role Overview
An established civil engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join its operational team on a full-time, site-based basis in Cumbria. This role is key to the successful delivery of civil engineering and construction projects, overseeing daily site operations and ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The position will suit a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership skills, capable of managing site teams, coordinating stakeholders, and resolving challenges efficiently as they arise on live projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Overall management of day-to-day site operations on civil engineering and construction projects
* Leading, supervising, and coordinating site teams and subcontractors
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality requirements
* Implementing and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
* Preparing, reviewing, and enforcing RAMS and site documentation
* Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
* Identifying and resolving technical, operational, and programme-related issues
* Monitoring progress and reporting on site performance
* Ensuring client expectations are met through effective communication and delivery
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in civil engineering and construction project delivery, ideally in a Site Agent or similar role
* Strong leadership, organisational, and team management capabilities
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders
* Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance
* Experience managing project budgets, programmes, and site resources
* Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
* Proficient in the use of project management tools and site reporting systems
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to and work on site
* Right to work in the UK
