Salary: £120,000 – £150,000 + Equity
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed technology business operating at the intersection of defence and artificial intelligence. With international operations and significant backing, the company is approaching a critical pre-IPO phase and is building out its leadership capability to support continued scale.
This is a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal moment, working directly with the CEO, VP Finance, and founders to shape the financial direction of a globally expanding organisation.
The Role
As FP&A Director, you will build and lead the FP&A function from the ground up, establishing best-in-class processes, tools, and reporting standards. You will play a central role in driving strategic decision-making, delivering investor-grade insights, and preparing the business for public markets.
This role will operate at the heart of the organisation, partnering with senior leadership to provide commercial and financial clarity across international operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and scale a high-performing FP&A function from scratch
* Lead global budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
* Develop robust, investor-grade reporting and board materials
* Partner closely with the CEO, VP Finance, and founders on strategic initiatives
* Deliver financial modelling, scenario analysis, and commercial insights
* Support IPO readiness, including processes, controls, and reporting standards
* Drive performance analysis across multiple international business units
* Implement systems, tools, and processes to support rapid scale
Candidate Profile
* 10+ years’ experience in FP&A / Finance, with progressive leadership responsibility
* Proven track record of building an FP&A function in a high-growth environment
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Experience in hypergrowth, scale-up, or venture-backed businesses
* Exposure to IPO readiness or public company environments (highly desirable)
* Prior experience in defence, deep tech, or highly regulated industries (advantageous)
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
* Advanced financial modelling and data storytelling capability
