Salary: Contact hours are paid at a multiplier of 2.5 basic hours for group teaching to include preparation time spent in the classroom delivering teaching, class preparation; course administration; marking ('the multiplier') totalling £56.96/ £67.49 (basic hourly rate starts from £22.78 per hour, inclusive of London Allowance)

Location: Bloomsbury, London

Hours: Hourly paid dependent on hours worked

The School of Arts is a world-leading centre for study and research involving visual and material arts, music and sound studies, curating, media industries and digital cultures of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and their global diasporas.

With our degree programmes across the creative arts at the core, we are one of only a few global centres specialising in the historical and contemporary arts of Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

About the Role:

We invite applications for Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) positions for the upcoming academic year. We are looking for a passionate and engaged individuals to support our teaching and learning activities, contribute to a dynamic intellectual environment, and work alongside a vibrant interdisciplinary team.

The GTAs will support teaching across a range of SoA modules, assist with marking and feedback as required, and contribute to the overall learning experience of students. This is an excellent opportunity for someone pursuing research in related fields to contribute to the pedagogical practice of a world leading centre for study of the arts.

We are looking for applicants who:

* With relevant expertise to support teaching of the disciplines incorporated within SOAS’ School of Arts.

* Are seeking to deepen and develop their pedagogical expertise and practice.

Prospective GTA posts include the following modules:

* Art Theory and Practice in East Asia (MA)
* Theory and Method in History of Art (MA)
* Ethnography in Music and Sound (MA)
* Curating Cultures (BA)
* Curating Global Arts (BA)

The above list of GTA posts remains subject to confirmation of funding. Successful candidates at interview will be added to a pool of prospective School of Arts GTAs. Firm offers of employment are expected to be made from mid-late September.
