Manage and direct the Technical Support Team and Control Centre Technicians to provide production, performance, assurance, technical, analytical, and data quality support to the Maintenance Engineering team. Lead the team in providing a comprehensive Level Crossing testing programme in an area with a high volume and widely diverse equipment types. This team is also responsible for providing a technical backup service to our faulting technicians, again in an area with equipment types ranging from mechanical semaphore signalling through to the latest electronic computer based interlockings and axle counters. Assist the Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer in the delivery of duties as required, including providing an engineer level on call rota for failure management and Signal Failure Investigation. This post will also provide technical and management guidance and support to the section managers and teams by reviewing and prioritising scheduled maintenance tasks and a programme of signalling equipment renewals. A comprehensive knowledge of Signalling equipment and maintenance management systems will be desirable and an advantage to the successful candidate. * Undertake an agreed programme of staff surveillance, work quality and asset condition checks.
Relevant technical competence
* Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques
* Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes
* Knowledge of operational railway environment
* Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
* Design knowledge and experience
* Failure/incident management and rectification techniques

* IRSE Licence holder (Signalling only)

* HNC/HND or equivalent qualification

Salary: Starting at £43,588 and rising to £51,719 per annum
