Role: Business Development Manager
Location: Leeds
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum + Commission
About the Client
Our client is a fast-paced, high-growth recruitment agency based in the heart of Leeds City Centre. Specialising in the blue-collar sector, they have built a reputation for reliability, speed, and deep industry knowledge across construction, manufacturing, and logistics. Unlike the corporate \"suit and tie\" environments, this firm prides itself on a grounded, high-energy culture where results are rewarded and autonomy is encouraged.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind the agency’s next phase of growth. This is a high-impact position designed for a hunter who thrives on winning new contracts while strategically nurturing existing partnerships.
The role is structured with a clear focus on expansion:
* 70% New Business Development: Identifying, prospecting, and closing new service agreements.
* 30% Account Growth: Maximising potential within the current client base to ensure we are their sole or primary provider.
Whether you are a seasoned Recruitment Consultant looking to move away from the \"delivery\" side to focus purely on sales, or a professional Business Developer from a service-led background, this role offers the platform to dominate the local market.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively identify and engage with key decision-makers (Managing Directors, Operations Managers, and HR Leads) within the blue-collar space.
* Conduct face-to-face meetings and site visits to understand client pain points and present tailored recruitment solutions.
* Lead the process for RFI/RFP submissions for large-scale industrial or construction projects.
* Stay ahead of local labour trends and competitor activity in the Leeds and wider West Yorkshire region.
* Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline and provide regular updates on sales targets and conversion metrics.
What we're looking for...
* You must demonstrate a history of hitting and exceeding sales targets (either in 360 recruitment or B2B business development).
* Familiarity with the blue-collar market (Construction, Warehousing, or Manufacturing) is highly advantageous.
* The \"hunter\" mentality is essential; you should be comfortable with cold outreach and navigating gatekeepers.
* Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to build rapport with site managers and board-level executives alike.
