ROLE: Data Centre Engineer - Mechanical Bias

We're looking for a Data Centre Engineer - Mechanical Bias to support the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of a high-performance JCA data centre environment.
Role Responsibilities
* Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all mechanical systems within the data centre.
* Support the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of critical mechanical infrastructure, including CRAC units, HVAC systems, AHUs, pumps, and chilled water systems.
* Conduct mechanical fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair work to maintain uptime and site resilience.
* Work closely with the engineering and on-site facilities teams to ensure compliance with operational standards, SLAs, and safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports, ensuring documentation meets client and Mitie standards.
* Support in emergency response situations, including mechanical plant failures or environmental alarms.
* Carry out routine inspections and performance checks to ensure optimal plant operation.
Required Qualifications
* Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (C&G, NVQ, HNC or equivalent).
* Experience working within mission-critical or data centre environments.
* Strong mechanical systems knowledge including chilled water, HVAC, and cooling plant.
* F‑Gas qualification (2079) - highly desirable.
* Chiller-bias background or experience working on chilled water systems - highly favourable.
* Good understanding of health & safety procedures including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing engineering team.
