This role is based in the Safer Communities service area, working alongside the Community Safety Partnership, Local Focus Hubs, Global Resettlement Service, partners and internal teams and directorates. It focuses on supporting and developing cross cutting partnership and policy activity associated with enabling safe and cohesive communities. About this opportunity Responsible for taking a proactive approach to Community Cohesion in Westmorland and Furness. This involves engaging with communities to develop positive and trusting relationships. Supporting and influencing a partnership response to the wider equalities and the cohesion agenda across the Council. Supporting and leading the W&F Community Cohesion Group and implementing the action plan identified. Helping to monitor tensions and focusing on building capacity within communities to support partners, reduce inequalities and promote cohesion. Who we are looking for… We are looking for a person with the following skills & attributes: Knowledge of the Community Cohesion agenda that has been developed within W&F. Ability to effectively influence and motivate Chief officers, Senior Members and partners to bring about added value Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officers and other agencies Knowledge of partnerships and organisations across Cumbria in relation to Community Cohesion and Integration. Ability to access/use social media to monitor tensions Experience of working in Community Cohesion or other related partnership environments Possession of high level of communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise and coherent reports What can we offer you!
