Fund Governance Manager South West England Full-time, Permanent £50,788 - £52,805 per annum 37 hours per week Apply by: Sunday 6 July 2025 at 23:45 Are you passionate about pension governance and ready to make a tangible impact on a high-performing, public sector pension fund? We are looking for a Fund Governance Manager to lead on the development and implementation of robust governance frameworks and assurance systems within a well-established Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). This is a critical role that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and supports the ongoing delivery of a high-quality pension administration service. What you'll be doing: Act as the key governance contact for internal and external stakeholders. Lead the design and delivery of governance strategies, policy documents and training plans. Manage governance responsibilities across the Pension Committee and Local Pension Board, including agenda planning, reporting, and performance monitoring. Oversee the Fund's compliance with The Pensions Regulator's Code of Practice 14 and GDPR. Maintain and report on the Fund's Risk Register and support wider business planning. Support procurement and contract management activities across Fund suppliers. Provide expert advice to projects and change initiatives affecting Fund governance. What we're looking for: A degree and a relevant professional qualification (e.g. IPPM, PMI, CII), or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience. In-depth knowledge of the LGPS and defined benefit scheme governance. At least 5 years' experience in administering a large pension scheme. Demonstrated experience of committee/board servicing, risk management, and governance compliance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and present complex information clearly. What you'll bring: Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on governance delivery. Familiarity with procurement processes and contract oversight. A proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong analytical and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities. Additional Info: No direct line management, but you will advise and guide others to meet governance targets. May be required to manage or coordinate project teams across service areas. This role is politically restricted and may involve occasional travel.
