The Role
An established engineering business is seeking an experienced Generator Controls Engineer to deliver control and commissioning solutions for generator and power distribution systems. This is a hands-on role covering system configuration, testing, and on-site commissioning.
The role suits an engineer who enjoys working on live systems, dealing directly with customers, and seeing projects through from design to final commissioning. This is not an office-only or software-only position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, configure, and commission generator control systems
2. Configure and troubleshoot generator controllers including synchronisation and load sharing
3. Read and interpret LV and HV electrical schematics for integration and fault finding
4. Implement and test circuit breaker switching logic, interlocks, and protection schemes
5. Support FAT and SAT testing of control panels and generator systems
6. Carry out site commissioning and performance testing
7. Produce technical documentation including I O lists, control philosophies, and test procedures
