JAB Recruitment is supporting a major international engineering organisation to secure an experienced Offshore Geotechnical Engineer for a long-term contract assignment (outside IR35). This role will support offshore wind, subsea, and conventional energy projects, contributing technical expertise across offshore geotechnical investigations, interpretation, and foundation design.
Role Overview
As an Offshore Geotechnical Engineer, you will plan, execute, and interpret offshore geotechnical investigations to support the design and installation of offshore structures, including wind turbine foundations, subsea pipelines, platforms, and seabed installations. You will provide geotechnical interpretation, analysis, and design recommendations while ensuring full compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan offshore site investigations by defining scopes of work and selecting appropriate sampling/testing methods (CPT, boreholes, etc.).
* Analyse soil and laboratory data to derive key geotechnical parameters including shear strength and stiffness.
* Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Foundation Design Reports (FDRs).
* Support foundation design for piles, suction caissons, and shallow foundations.
* Perform pile analyses, calculate axial/lateral capacities, and evaluate installation feasibility.
* Contribute to FEED and detailed design stages, providing geotechnical expertise to multidisciplinary teams.
* Ensure compliance with ISO, API, DNV and other relevant industry codes and client specifications.
* Manage geotechnical risks, participate in HAZID/HAZOP reviews, and assess third-party deliverables.
* Promote safety and quality, aligning all activities with company HSEQ expectations.
