Role and Location
The North West team is recruiting for Project Controls Managers to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of growth in the Energy & Natural Resources division. The successful candidate will be based in or near Sizewell/Ipswich and be present in the client office for 3 days per week.
Main purpose of the role
A Project Controls Manager (PCM) will lead cross-discipline teams of project controls professionals to deliver effective, consistent, assured and value-adding project controls services to the nuclear client across diverse and complex programmes. They will define and deliver performance management cadences, maintain robust planning and project controls deliverables, provide accurate data to drive management decisions, ensure client objectives are met, and projects are delivered to time, cost targets and quality standards.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
* Lead cross-discipline teams to deliver robust project controls services and continuous improvement.
* Define and implement project controls approaches across project, programme and portfolio levels for effective decision making.
* Define governance and assurance processes around project controls products.
* Adhere to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for project controls data and deliverables.
* Develop breakdown structures and support scope definitions with client professionals.
* Define scaled, integrated approaches for project controls and document them (e.g., Project Control System Definition).
* Define scope with exclusions, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies; coordinate scope decomposition.
* Establish a robust Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control with the Integrated Project Team.
* Collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse their performance data and establish contract requirements for project controls.
* Ensure scope, cost, risk and schedule integration; analyse performance data to provide delivery insight.
* Train and coach client teams and less experienced project members on performance and reporting processes.
* Assure quality, accuracy and integrity of the Project Controls output.
* Undertake line management activities including career development and performance management.
* Interact with Senior Management/Leadership when delivering updates on Performance Management within a complex environment.
* Guide the team on the use of systems/tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Power BI, Excel) for Performance Management, Analysis and Reporting.
* Promote positive change and effective collaboration to deliver best work.
Qualifications
Senior professional experience applying multiple Project Controls disciplines (Planning, Cost Estimation, Cost Management, Risk Management or Reporting) across projects and lifecycle stages. Nuclear experience is desirable but not required. Strong knowledge of project controls software and ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
You will be a strong communicator with leadership behaviours to influence, motivate, coach and develop a diverse and inclusive team.

* Eligible for BPSS security clearance.
* Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, PMI).
* Experience integrating Project Controls disciplines; ability to assess team maturity and ways of working.
* Experience with project controls software (Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys, etc.).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to make risk-based decisions.
* Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and conflict navigation skills.
* Desire to work within the nuclear sector.
