Procurement Lead
Location: Slough,
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + package
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to support the delivery of major industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical and hyperscale data centre projects across the UK.
The Procurement Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing key supply chain relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment and subcontract packages. The role will work closely with project, commercial and operational teams to support successful project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement project-specific procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
* Lead procurement activities across multiple projects from pre-construction through to project completion.
* Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
* Manage tendering processes and commercial negotiations to achieve best value outcomes.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic supply chain partners.
* Monitor market conditions, material availability and pricing trends to identify risks and opportunities.
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure procurement schedules align with project programmes and key milestones.
* Support commercial teams with package procurement, contract administration and supplier performance management.
* Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual obligations and industry regulations.
* Manage supplier performance, quality standards and delivery expectations.
* Identify and mitigate supply chain risks that may impact project delivery.
* Produce procurement reports, forecasts and supply chain performance metrics for senior management.
Requirements
* Proven experience in procurement within the construction, engineering or mission-critical sectors.
* Experience procuring major packages for industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical or data centre projects.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrable experience managing supplier and subcontractor relationships.
* Understanding of construction contracts, procurement routes and supply chain management.
* Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Desirable
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
* Membership of CIPS or equivalent professional body.
* Experience with MEP procurement and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with NEC and JCT contract forms.
* Knowledge of international supply chains and long-lead equipment procurement.
