In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the charge in protecting bathing waters, Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), and other environmentally sensitive locations from potential pollutions. Key Responsibilities
* Lead risk scanning activities across designated high‑risk sites using data, site information, and environmental indicators. Implement and support seasonal focused requirements.
* Develop and maintain a risk profile for each Intensive Care entry, to include the exit strategy.
* Coordinate proactive interventions in response to early signs of pollution or environmental stress.
* Collaborate with field teams, process scientists, and wider operations to ensure accountability and timely action.
* Provide weekly updates and insights to Operations and senior stakeholders.
* Support continuous improvement of our Intensive Care strategy through lessons learned and innovation.
Accountabilities
Risk Monitoring & Analysis (20%)
* Continuously scan high‑risk sites using trending data, alarms, telemetry, and historical incident patterns.
* Identify emerging risks and potential failure modes before escalation.
* Use AI tools and predictive analytics to support early detection and prioritisation.
Proactive Intervention Planning (20%)
* Develop and initiate containment strategies ahead of failure.
* Coordinate with field teams and control centres to deploy resources pre‑emptively.
* Escalate risks to relevant teams with clear action plans and timelines.
Data Integration & Insight Generation (20%)
* Integrate multiple data sources (e.g., SCADA, weather, asset condition, customer calls) to build a comprehensive risk picture.
* Maintain dashboards and visual tools to support situational awareness.
Operational Coordination (20%)
* Act as a control point for prioritisation of response across Intensive Care Locations.
* Liaise with mobile plant teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure rapid deployment.
Performance Tracking & Closure (10%)
* Track all initiated interventions to ensure completion and effectiveness.
* Maintain audit trail of actions taken and outcomes achieved.
* Close the loop by reviewing post‑incident data and refining future strategies.
Continuous Improvement (5%)
* Contribute to SOP development for common failure modes.
* Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
* Support trials and pilots to validate new approaches and technologies.
Stakeholder Engagement (5%)
* Work closely with Operational Control, PCL’s, Incident Containment Lead and Operational Field Teams and Supply Chain resources.
* Provide regular updates to leadership on risk trends and containment performance.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Strong understanding of environmental risk management, particularly in water quality and pollution control.
* Experience working with bathing waters, SSSI sites, or similar sensitive environments.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
* Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
