Company Overview
Established in March 2023, Enterprise Insurance Services, a trading name of Enterprise Innovations Holdings Ltd, is an FCA authorised (an Appointed Representative of Stubben Edge) insurance broker and third party administrator (TPA). The directors of this start‑up broker have secured several TPA contracts providing claims outsourcing and vehicle insurance affinities, and is now looking to scale‑up by hiring staff, and is looking for a Head of Operations to lead day‑to‑day trading.
The directors have over 100 years combined experience in general insurance covering underwriting, pricing, claims, brokering, operations, marketing and IT management. The company will utilise their network of contacts to establish niche business opportunities, and they will be able to support the company through its growth.
Position overview
The Head of Operations would be the first staff member through the door and will personally create operational capability to launch the vehicle insurance offering and scale existing claims outsourcing arrangements. This individual needs to excel in hands‑on delivery and have a good experience in setting up customer facing sales, service and back office tasks.
Claims outsourcing has entered its 2nd year of trading and licenses are in place for broker software OpenGI and Next Venture, and these customisations need to be tested and brought live for the vehicle insurance offering.
Job functions
* To create van and car insurance setups on broker software applications covering insurer schemes, add‑ons, premium finance, card payments for new business and policy administration.
* To integrate data and processes to support broker’s specified FNOL reporting by customers.
* To manage sales and customer service transactions in a timely and effective manner for Enterprise Insurance customers to achieve income targets and operational KPI's.
* To operate daily trading cashflows, ensuring premiums are collected, customer debt is chased, policy adjustments are made, and claim settlements are paid.
* To support directors in setting up telephone, distributed IT and manage external suppliers to support broker transactions.
* To ensure processes are documented, effective and known and adherence to them is achieved to meet compliance requirements.
* To take an active part in management meetings with directors, preparing agenda and minutes when required.
* To support recruitment and manage staff to ensure achievement of sales and customer service KPI's. Staff are supported, trained, encouraged and managed to deliver excellent outcomes.

* A good level of computer literacy/ IT skills including ability to effectively use MS Office products (specifically Word & Excel).

* Ability to collect, collate, understand and evaluate information including financial data with good attention to detail.
* Ability to identify concerns and problems, know how they should be resolved and ensure that they are not only resolved in a timely manner but to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
* Flexibility will be required around working hours to ensure that deadlines and customer requirements are met.
Qualifications, Experience
* Minimum 5 years operational leadership at team manager level or above.
* Experience of managing a small team and managing a high workload along with supporting the work of others.
* Experience of working with broker focused computer and telephony systems.
* A good working knowledge of personal lines broker processes and working practices.
* An understanding of claim management would be preferred.
Core behaviours
In line with the Insurance Distribution Directive and FCA regulations this role holder is required to meet the good conduct requirements including 15 hours of continuous professional development per annum.
This role will require keeping up to date with regulatory and professional changes, maintaining the required knowledge and skills to perform in post and to undertake mandatory training.
As with all start up companies the role holder will need to be adaptable and open to change to reflect a high level of initial ambiguity and changes in priorities. A can‑do attitude and a drive to continuously improve will be essential.
This role is responsible for achieving sales and customer service (Including claims) KPI’s and hence needs to be comfortable with setting their own targets and achieving targets through others as the team grows.
The company will remain small with a number of staff undertaking a variety of tasks across functions and clients, supported by time from the directors, so a high degree of natural collaboration and flexibility will be required to be successful in this environment.
